Cape Verdean international basketball player Ivan Almeida expressed his happiness signing to play for one of the best clubs in Europe, Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Portugal) this season.
“Happy to announce that I will play for Benfica this season. Extremely happy to be here in Portugal again, to represent one of the great clubs in this country and in Europe”.
Ivan Almeida, 32, the former two-time MVP of the Polish League, announced that he will wear the number #96 of the Benfica basketball club, in honor of (9) his brother and fellow Cabo Verde international player Joel Almeida, and (6) his usual basketball number.
The athlete hopes to be able to help the Lisbon club to achieve the goals recommended envisioned for this season. He also said he hoped to count on the support of fans on his return to play in Portugal.
